After a goal in La Bombonera, now new contract for AZ talent Dave Kwakman

These are good times for Dave Kwakman. A week and a half ago, the Volendam midfielder scored on behalf of AZ in the World Cup final in Argentina and a month ago he made his debut for the Alkmaar main force against RKC. As the icing on the cake, AZ has broken Kwakman’s contract and extended it until the summer of 2028.

“Dave started with us at the AZ Football School in the Region and has now completed almost the entire AZ Youth Training program,” says Paul Brandenburg on the AZ site about Dave Kwakman’s period in Alkmaar. The head of youth training sees that he is now knocking hard on the door at AZ 1. “Judging by his debut in AZ 1, he is clearly in the picture there. It is up to him to take the definitive step to that level in the coming seasons and he is certainly ready to do so.” stands.”

La Bombanera

In the summer of 2015, Kwakman made the step from RKAV Volendam to the youth academy of AZ Youth Academy. This season, the 19-year-old midfielder mainly plays his matches for Jong AZ in the first division. The counter currently stands at 21 matches. He hasn’t scored yet. Kwakman did that in La Bombanera stadium during the lost World Cup final on September 9 earlier this month.

Debut

“The club’s appreciation and trust provide a great feeling,” Kwakman says on AZ’s digital platform. “Last season I made my debut in the Kitchen Champion Division and I am now going to play there more and more. I have also been able to play minutes in the Premier League. It is becoming more and more serious and that is exactly the intention.”

Kwakman is not currently traveling to Bosnia & Herzegovina. Trainer Pascal Jansen has not included him in the 22-man selection for the European match against HŠK Zrinjski Mostar.
