After 25 game suspension: Ja Morant excels in NBA comeback for Grizzlies

Basketball star Ja Morant has successfully returned to the NBA after a 25-game suspension. Damian Lillard was also in focus.

The 24-year-old Morant secured a 115-113 win for the Memphis Grizzlies against the New Orleans Pelicans with a single as the clock expired. With a total of 34 points, eight rebounds and six assists, Morant played a key role in the success of the Grizzlies, who were still trailing by 19 points at halftime.

“I haven’t played a game in eight months,” Morant told TNT television. “I had a lot of time, a lot of hard days to make it through.”

Morant was because “league-damaging behavior” was banned over the summer after he was seen with guns in social media posts. “Basketball is my life, what I love, therapy for me, and I’m happy to be back,” Morant said.

Damian Lillard breaks 20,000 points mark

Meanwhile, Damian Lillard broke a sound barrier with his 40 points in the Milwaukee Bucks’ 132:119 win against the San Antonio Spurs. The 33-year-old became the 51st NBA player to break the 20,000 point mark. Meanwhile, teammate Giannis Antetokounmpo achieved a triple-double with eleven points, 14 rebounds and 16 assists.
