Grandpa Ger, grandma Clary and their two sons Redmar and Christiaan and daughter Mananja have recorded a short but powerful video message especially for Isra. In it they tell that they are welcome at any time. “You are in our hearts”, they address their granddaughter.
Hans Kamperman and Elly Sjouw sent this video by WhatsApp to Isra’s stepmother and her stepbrother. They then saw the ‘blue ticks’ that they had opened the video, but immediately afterwards they removed their profile picture from their app account. Grandpa Ger and grandma Clary don’t have to expect much from that either.
Grandma Clary: “But who knows, maybe around Isra’s thirtieth year. When I look at myself, that’s an age when you start looking around. Who am I, what am I doing? An age when you listen to others less and what more your own way. As long as there is life, there is hope. And hope gives life.”
