The NOS often confuses press freedom with the right to government subsidies. Stopping government subsidies for NOS or NPO is not the same as restricting press freedom. After all, they are still free to express their opinions. However, they do have to find a financier in the market, just like SBS, De Volkskrant or De Telegraaf. The fact that the government finances certain media is a problematic issue. In doing so, the government is disrupting the market and causing damage to other media. NOS is now boycotting platform X.
