AFC gets stuck on a draw, while Koninklijke HFC takes its first win

AFC has lost the lead in the second division. The team from Amsterdam did not go further than 1-1 against Noordwijk, making Quick Boys the new number 1. Koninklijke HFC defeated Cossack Boys (2-1).

In the first round, AFC was much too strong for Jong Almere City FC (4-1). Especially Oussama Siali was important, because he scored all the goals. As a result, the team from Amsterdam started as the leader in round two.

Noordwijk was the opponent in this. Just before half-time it was the home side who took the lead. Dylan Rietveld took full advantage of a mistake by Gijs van Zetten: 1-0. Emiel Wendt was able to double the score from the penalty spot in the second half, but Van Zetten saved. Matthijs Jesse then took care of the equalizer. Despite a number of chances, the final score did not change.

Where AFC failed to win, Royal HFC succeeded. The Haarlem victory was mainly due to two Volendam players: Gerry Vlak and Niels Springer. They took a 2-0 lead in the first half. Kevin Vermeulen did something in return just before the break. HFC got away well in the final phase. Dilivio Hoffman thought he would score the 2-2, but it was disallowed for offside. With that, the three points went back to Haarlem.

ADO’20 from Heemskerk, which promoted to the second division, also took the three-pointer of the season. After a difficult game, a goal from Maurizio Brenna was enough for the victory.
