AFC Bournemouth crowned their impressive Deadline Day in the evening. The English second division club announced their fifth new signing of the day in Todd Cantwell. The 23-year-old joins the “Cherries” on loan from Norwich City until the end of the season and is now the most valuable professional in the championship with a market value of 20 million euros.
Overall, the Deadline Day deals – in addition to Cantwell, Nathaniel Phillips (24), Siriki Dembélé (25), Kieffer Moore (29) and Freddie Woodman (24) also came to the south of England – have a total value of 44 million euros. That corresponds to more than the entire squad of every single German second division team.

At Cantwell, who comes from Norwich’s own youth, the performance curve should point upwards again after a disappointing six months on loan. In the previous season, the left midfielder was instrumental in the rise of the “Canaries” with 13 goals in 33 league games, but this season he only made eight appearances in the upper house and even had to help out twice in October in the reserve.
