Stars paid respect to the late Ozzy Osbourne respect for the MTV Video Music Awards. Steven Tyler and Joe Perry von Aerosmith, Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme and Yungblud performed for tribute in Osbourne’s honor.

The honor began with excerpts from Osbourne’s entire career and a video message from his son Jack. “I am sure that it would make him incredibly happy to see how these great musicians continue his legacy and inspire the next generation of rockers,” said Jack Osbourne. “I want cathedral [Yungblud]Nuno, Steve and Joe von Aerosmith particularly thank you. Yungblud & Aerosmith perform “Changes” & “Mama, I’m Coming Home”
Yungblud and extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt opened the live part of the homage with a version of “Crazy Train” and an interpretation of Black Sabbath’s “Changes”. For the grand finale, Tyler and Perry joined the group for an interpretation of Ozzy Osbourne’s play “Mama, I’m Coming Home” from 1991. Yungblud took over the vocals and bed court accompanied Perry on the acoustic guitar.

Osbourne died of a heart attack on July 22nd at the age of 76 after fighting for years with Parkinson’s disease and a variety of other injuries and illnesses. Just a few weeks before his death, he performed one last time with the original line-up of Black Sabbath at the “Back to the Beginning” concert in Birmingham.
MTV and Ozzy Osbourne: A long history together
With MTV, Osbourne shares a long history. The singer moderated the program “Headbangers Ball” in the 1980s, was a member of the short-lived show “Battle for Ozzfest” in 2004 and played along with his family in the reality TV series “The Osbournes”. He was also awarded the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2014.
