Advertising encourages 1 in 4 young adults to gamble. Addiction coach: “It’s a matter of life or death, taking a gamble like that”

Just before the ban on gambling advertising came into effect in July, the Gaming Commission conducted a survey among young people between 18 and 30 years old. This shows that advertising encourages one in four young adults in our country to gamble, more than half of those surveyed have taken a gamble in the past three years and 13 percent even do so every day. “Sports idols are influencers who wear advertising for gambling companies on their shirts, you can’t miss it,” says expert Arne Nilis, who was once addicted himself.
