“No idea why,” said 42-year-old Eisenberg about his decision. “I have been bitten by the blood donation virus. I am making an altruistic donation in mid-December. I am so looking forward to it.”
With an altruistic donation there is no prior relationship between donor and recipient.
“It is basically risk-free and therefore necessary,” Eisenberg said in a separate statement to Today. “I think people will realize it’s a no-brainer if you have the time and inclination.”
The actor also says that because of his action, his family would be given priority in the future if they ever needed a kidney transplant. Jesse Eisenberg is known for The Social Network and A Real Pain, among others.
