THE’Acemthe European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers, has released data relating to the registrations of motorcycles and mopeds in 2025 in the five largest European markets, namely: France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. Last year, in these countries, over one million units were registered, exactly 1,002,848 vehicles, marking a decrease of approximately -12.9% compared to the same period in 2024 which had 1,150,852 units. Antonio PerlotSecretary General of the European Association commented: “The 2025 data confirms the expected market correction following the transition to the Euro 5+ regulation, with motorcycle registrations returning to just over one million units. While this represents a decline of 12.9% compared to the exceptional performance of 2024, significantly driven by registrations ahead of the new emissions standard, it is important to consider these results in a long-term perspective. Respect Pre-pandemic, motorcycle registrations remain strong, up 14.7% from 2019 levels, demonstrating that growth in consumer interest in motorized two-wheelers has been steady, including a continued shift from mopeds to motorcycles.”
