The three extra reunion concerts by Acda and de Munnik that went on sale on Thursday morning are sold out within an hour. The duo will give a total of six concerts in Ziggo Dome, three at the end of October and three in mid-December. No additional concerts will be added.
Last week, Thomas Acda and Paul de Munnik announced, to the delight of their fans, the return of Acda and de Munnik On. The announcement coincided with a new single Tomorrow Will Be Fantastic and a one-off reunion concert in Ziggo Dome. But the tickets didn’t seem to stick: one quickly became three concerts and after consultation with Ziggo Dome they could even spend six evenings in the concert hall.
“What should you say? We glow with pride, we are incredibly grateful that so many people want to come to De Reünie. If you yourself hope for one or two concerts and it turns out to be six, then that can only make you silent,” says Acda. De Munnik adds: ,,It has been a great week, we notice that a lot of people are working with us and that gives us an amazing feeling. We are going through our repertoire to put together a great concert and are really looking forward to the concerts in October and December.”
Comeback seemed impossible for a long time
They themselves did not see the comeback coming for a long time. After the breakup, intensive contact ended abruptly. For about five years, the two hardly spoke to each other. Moreover, in interviews they left no misunderstanding about it; as a duo they were a thing of the past. “You only have to break up with me once,” Acda sounded on the radio in 2017 as a rejected lover. In the corona period, they contact each other again, and that rekindled the fire. ,,We are very good at Acda and de Munnik are”, De Munnik said about the reunion last week. His companion added: ,,I dare say that nobody is better at it than we are.”
The concerts are on October 26, 27 and 28 and on December 14, 15 and 16 of this year.
