Stifel analyst Johannes Braun set a price target of 10 euros in his “Buy” study. The biggest worries have been ticked off, now one can concentrate on the successes, according to the expert. He emphasizes the development of the free flow of funds and the unexpectedly quickly repaid state aid. In addition, Braun expects a strong summer season. The Irish broker Davy only recommended the Lufthansa papers at the start of the week.
Analyst Andrew Lobbenberg from the British bank HSBC meanwhile sees the plans with Alitalia’s successor ITA as a possible dampener for the capital market successes of the past few months. “You did a good job of explaining to the market that your focus is on adding value for investors,” said Lobbenberg. “But this possible transaction is a reminder of the previous expansion strategy. Since the takeover of Swiss Air, however, no acquisition has been a success – neither at Austrian nor at BMI, Brussels or parts of Air Berlin.”
