The accident that took place this morning in Majorca, Spain, shortly after 10 am, could have much more serious consequences: an 89 -year -old motorist hit a group of cyclists from the German national team on the track. Seven runners were affected, of which six were injured. All transported to the hospital in Palma di Mallorca, but fortunately no one is in danger of life.

The names

Benjamin Boos, Tobias Buck-Gramcko, Bruno Kessler, Moritz Augenstein (RSC Ellmendingen), Louis Gentzik (SSV Gera) and Max-David from Briese were training when after about 3 km they were affected by the car on the road that from the airport of Mallorca leads to Lucmajor. The speed limit on that stretch is 100 km/h: according to the witnesses, the car driver has invested them with his Citroën without almost stopping. The coach of the National Cycling on the track, Lucas Schädlich, was with the athletes and witnessed the accident. The agents of the Civil Guard, who were patrols nearby, lent first aid.
