The Sport 2000 retail association has further expanded the presence of its Absolute Run running concept. On Tuesday, the company, which is part of the ANWR Group, announced the opening of a new store in the Lower Saxony city of Oldenburg. This is now the 19th location of the special format.
Since opening last Friday, “Absolute Run Oldenburg” at Lange Straße 90 has been offering running items from well-known brands as well as running analyzes and advice. In addition to the approximately 240 square meter sales area on the ground floor, the new store also had “a separate community area on the upper floor with around 120 square meters,” according to the company. Events and lectures will take place there in the future.
The store is run by Grischa Lehmann. According to Sport 2000, he has been “part of the circle of ‘Absolute Run’ partners for several years” and has been running a store of this format in Bremen since 2020.
Lehmann is looking forward to the new challenge: “Bremen has shown how strong the ‘Absolute Run’ format is – also through the close cooperation with Sport 2000 and our brand partners. The holistic interaction of expertise, clear product range strategy and marketing support makes the difference,” he explained in a statement. “Oldenburg is therefore the next logical step: a market with a lot of potential that we want to further develop with our experience.”
Christoph Görner, the senior format manager of ‘Absolute Run’ at Sport 2000 GmbH, praised the expansion of the collaboration. “With Absolute Run Oldenburg, we are strengthening our presence in a sports-loving region and are specifically expanding the network with experienced running specialists,” he explained. “We are very pleased that Grischa Lehmann continues to place so much trust in ‘Absolute Run’ and is now continuing his positive experiences from Bremen in Oldenburg. His commitment and expertise are an asset – for the format, for the region and for the entire Sport 2000 community.”
