Abortion pill may remain in the US for the time being, but court does impose temporary restrictions | Abroad

A federal appeals court ruled Wednesday that the abortion pill could still be available, but under certain conditions. Shipment of the drug to patients was blocked and steps taken by the government to facilitate access overturned the judges. For example, women who want to use the pill must demonstrate three personal doctor visits. The pill can also only be taken during the first seven weeks of pregnancy. Previously, a term of ten weeks applied.

About half a million women use the abortion pill every year. Some democratic states have therefore started stockpiling the abortion pill after Kacsmaryk’s ruling.
