Abdullah Doğan, a football player of Turkish origin, who went to Kharkiv to transfer from Werder Bremen’s B team to Ukraine’s Metalist Kharkiv team, was stranded in the city and was asleep in the subway due to the attacks.

Doğan told Bild, “I would never have come here if I knew what would happen. I was shocked. I saw tanks and helicopters at the airport.” said.
