Coach Abdullah Avcı, who attended the 72nd AXA Sigorta Milliyet Athlete of the Year Awards Ceremony held at Volkswagen Arena, made a statement to the press before the ceremony.

Evaluating the fact that the National Football Team won the right to participate in the World Cup by defeating Kosovo 1-0 away, Avcı said, “It is a great feeling. I congratulate the technical staff and the players. I was a coach who supported this from the beginning. They are doing very special things, good work. I hope we wanted to be a stable tournament country in its continuity. Now when you look at it, there is the European Championship and the quarter-finals. Now we are in the World Cup. We will support them wholeheartedly and give them success there.
