A$AP Rocky’s new album “Don’t Be Dumb” is in the starting blocks and will be released on January 16, 2026 after a few postponements. On January 5th, 2026, the US rapper released his single “Punk Rocky” – Winona Ryder, who is currently on everyone’s lips thanks to “Stranger Things”, appears in the video.
A$AP Rocky in close collaboration with Tim Burton collaborators
The hip-hop artist’s new record has been eagerly awaited by his fans for a long time. Now the first single from the work, “Punk Rocky”, has been released with a music video in which actress Winona Ryder can also be seen. This is no coincidence, as A$AP Rocky worked with Tim Burton and other collaborators of the filmmaker on the album. The director contributed the artwork, and Danny Elfman, who also worked closely with the “Sweeney Todd” maker, contributed the music. Winona Ryder and Tim Burton are also known to be close.
First single from the new album
To the delight of many fans, the first track from the US rapper’s latest work can now be heard: “Punk Rocky”. The three co-writers Cristoforo Donadi, Adam King Feeney and Zach Fogarty also worked on the song. However, there isn’t much punk to be found in the single. You can hear surf-like guitars, over whose sounds the musician sings translated into German: “I want to fall in love / I don’t want a broken heart / I don’t want to grow apart / Bring me back.”
He shared the direction of the accompanying video with Folkert Verdoorn and Simon Becks. This is where Winona Ryder comes into play. In addition to her, Thundercat, A$AP Nast, Brooks Ginnan and Danny Elfman can also be seen in the video. He plays the drums on a rooftop while the actress’s figure happily watches from below.
In the clip, Ryder takes on the role of the father of two’s neighbor. Although the song exudes a relaxed atmosphere, it quickly becomes chaotic. The rapper can be seen wearing pink curlers and throwing a party in a garage with his punk friends. His neighbor brings him cookies as a gift, which her muscle-bound boyfriend doesn’t like. The situation then escalates…

The album “Don’t Be Dumb” will be released on June 1st, 2026. Shortly afterwards, the rapper will make his debut on “Saturday Night Live” alongside Finn Wolfhard. He can be seen together with Winona Ryder in the series “Stranger Things”.
