A$AP Rocky is being charged with assault for a shooting last November. Los Angeles Public Prosecutor George Gascón made the announcement yesterday, local time.
“Firing a gun in a public place is a serious crime that could have had tragic consequences. Not only for the person targeted, but also for innocent bystanders who were visiting Hollywood at the time,” Gascón said in a press release sent to several US media outlets.
The incident took place in Los Angeles on November 6, 2021. The rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, is said to have shot with a semi-automatic firearm during an argument with an acquaintance. Mayers will be arraigned in court on August 17.
