A monkey has caused a general power outage on Sri Lanka. According to Minister of Energy Kumara Jayakody, the animal penetrated a substation of the electricity network in a southern suburb of the city of Colombo and came in contact with a transformer. “That caused and imbalance in the system,” said the minister.
