Aalsmeer setting of ‘Ride for the roses’: more than a thousand cyclists raise money for charity

Today Aalsmeer was the scene of a special cycling event. During ‘Ride for Roses’, hundreds of people jumped on their bikes with the same goal: raising money for the Dutch Cancer Society.

More than thirteen hundred participants took part in the special bicycle tour today. The cyclists cycle a tour of twenty-five, fifty or one hundred kilometers and thus raise money for the Dutch Cancer Society.

Lost bicycle key

Despite the serious objective, today was mostly fun in Aalsmeer. “We are already completely exhausted,” a cyclist tells NH News with a laugh. “Especially the search for the bicycle key.”

But that exhaustion is not for nothing. The counter is now almost at two hundred thousand euros, and counting.
