The cemetery in Eext is taken over by the municipality of Aa en Hunze. The cemetery is currently still run by the Andere-Eext Cemetery Foundation, but it will transfer ownership to the municipality on January 1.
The foundation is no longer able to carry out its tasks. There is also no succession within the board. “The mayor and alderman of Aa en Hunze believes it is important that the cemetery in Eext is preserved for the community,” the municipality said. Aa en Hunze also thinks it is important that the cemetery remains well maintained.
The cemetery will be taken over from the foundation for a symbolic amount of 1 euro. Nothing will change for surviving relatives, except that from now on the contact will be with the municipality, instead of with the foundation.
