Anyone who wants to drive on the A27 this weekend must take diversions into account. Rijkswaterstaat will start work on Friday evening at nine o’clock. The highway will therefore be closed until five o’clock on Monday morning between the Hooipolder junction and the Hank junction. The A27 towards Breda is also closed for travelers between the Gorinchem junction and the Avelingen exit.

Traffic is therefore diverted via the A59, A2 and A15 or via the A59, A16, N3 and A15. Local traffic can drive to destinations in the municipality of Altena via the A27 and Avelingen exit or via the A59 and Heusden exit. Rijkswaterstaat reports this.

At Raamsdonksveer, Rijkswaterstaat is moving the lanes outwards. This is done to make room in the central reservation to install sewerage.

A27 will also close in two weeks
The A27 will also be closed for a weekend in two weeks. The road will be closed between Friday, November 28, 9:00 PM and Monday, December 1, 5:00 AM. Then the lanes will be put back.

According to Rijkswaterstaat, there are long traffic jams every day on the A27 between the Hooipolder junction and Houten. That is why the highway will be widened and renovated in the coming years. This happens over a length of 47 kilometers. In addition, four major bridges will be tackled, rush-hour lanes will be constructed and approximately sixty viaducts will be tackled.
