Novara’s show of strength, which defeats Chieri 3-0 and starts the second round with momentum. A match in which Igor confirms the excellent performance despite the usual infirmary problems (Federica Squarcini underwent knee surgery this week), but Bernardi’s team remains in control in every phase, capitalizing on Tolok’s good streak with a very driven ball ( MVP with 15 points) and Alsmeier. For Chieri many difficulties in reception and in the attack of the four places (19/52 for the Skinner-Omoruyi pair), and the missed opportunity in the second half (3 wasted set points).

Scandicci suffers but achieves complete success on the Cuneo pitch. It ends 1-3, but Gaspari’s team, which rotates (Ognjenovic, Mingardi and Nwakalor out at the start for Gennari, Bajema and Graziani), takes a risk, clearly losing the first set under the excellent services of the cats. Response from the Tuscans (with Antropova at 18 points in two sets), who however sank again in the third (17-9 and 22-18). Ognjenovic’s entry turns the game around, and the rest is done by Antropova (MVP with 33 points with 3 aces and 8 blocks), deciding the third and fourth sets. For Cuneo the comeback suffered at the end of the third quarter (not the first in key moments) is decisive, even if the difficulties in attack are constant.
