On the fifth day, external successes for Scandicci and Pinerolo, Milan overtakes Macerata thanks to a super performance from Egonu (62% effectiveness and 51% efficiency).

San Giovanni in Marignano-Scandicci 0-3 (16-25, 17-25, 15-25)

The march of Savino del Bene continues, knocking out bottom San Giovanni in Marignano with a clear 3-0, at the Palasport in Cervia, in just an hour and twenty minutes. Antropova absent, Bosetti and Ruddins are the offensive ends of the Tuscans (14 points for both), well served by Bechis who admirably replaces Ognjenovic in the control room (Mvp). Milan didn’t spoil the celebration with the fans in their home stadium for the Super Cup won in Trieste and beat Macerata 3-0. A match that is not always obvious, especially in the second set when the guests waste 3 set points to equalize, but the difference, especially in attack, is felt. Thanks to an unstoppable Egonu (62% effectiveness and 51% efficiency), flanked by a Kurtagic MVP (10 points with 8 attacks and 3 blocks). Cbf Balducci shows the good things already seen at the beginning of the season, with Decortes as reference for the attack, but the reception fluctuates too much and is too inconsistent for the opponents on the block.
