If you loved Peaky Blinders and appreciated the role of the father in Adolescenceit’s time to enjoy another British TV series of considerable level: A Thousand Blows It is in fact conceived by Steven Knight (the architect of Peaky Blindersmaster of the dramas in costume with conflicting settings) and sees among the protagonists Stephen Graham, an actor of the moment who plays his lost father in the fiction on teenagers.
We are faced with an unusual and fascinating story: Two Jamaicans land in the late nineteenth century London looking for luck. Here, they come into contact with a band of snatches led by the astute Mary Carr and with The world of clandestine fights with bare handsin some ways the ancestor of modern boxing, where the champion Henry “Sugar” Goodon (Stephen Graham) stands out.

The series is a Powerful fresco of a period of British historythe differences in class and social against the background of the second industrial revolution, the progressive and slow path towards the civilization of behaviors and relationships.
A Thousand Blows It also tells us about the rules and discipline that underlie the establishment of contemporary sports, an effective device to tell pieces of social and cultural history of our continent.
