Krista Pärmäkoski experienced a nasty setback.

After the Tour de Ski that ended three weeks ago, the Finnish skier stayed at the camp in Italy’s Passo Lavaze, but fell ill. Because of this, Pärmäkoski will not compete in the mixed relay of the Engadin World Cup on Friday.

– Last weekend, I packed a little flu with me to the Lavaze camp. I’m still recovering from that, so I’m not in the medley relay, skier announced on his Instagram account on Thursday.

– It’s annoying and saddening, but my own way of thinking is that you’re either healthy or sick, there’s no middle ground in sports. If and when your own state of being is considered a lottery, then you are not healthy.

Pärmäkoski is part of the Engadin World Cup team. He announced on Instagram that he is on the sidelines of competitions to the point that there is no need to raffle off your own state of mind.

On Saturday, a free sprint will be contested in the Engadin, and on Sunday a 20 km free start race.

In Friday’s mixed relay, Finland will be represented Iivo Niskanen, Jasmi Joensuu, Remi Lindholm and Vilma Ryytty.
