What does this landscape tell you? Some parts of the route are unpaved and at certain times you will have to walk a bit to a hunebed. Sturdy footwear is recommended. This tour is suitable for both regular and electric bicycles. Participation is free, but registration is required drentslandschap.nl. The location will be announced upon registration.

Discover Dutch viticulture

At Wijngaard Op Joarum, located in Nietap, grapes are grown in Friesland and Drenthe and converted into beautiful wines. Chantal & Simon, the faces behind Op Joarum, manage every step, from grape growing to bottling and selling the wine. The wines score well in wine tests and are served in renowned restaurants. With a focus on organic farming and sheep grazing, they are a small-scale producer with an annual production of around 2000 bottles. As the grapes slowly ripen and the blue varieties change color, you can now witness it for yourself. If you are interested in Dutch viticulture, the winemaking process or if you simply want to taste wine, you are welcome on Sunday at Wijngaard Op Joarum. In addition to a tasting, there is also a guided tour.

Open gardens relay

Several open gardens in and around Groningen invite you to explore this weekend.

About 30 passionate members of Growth & Bloom share their garden oases with the public. For the exact locations, we refer to opentuinenestafettegroningen.nl. The province of Groningen is home to many beautiful gardens and enthusiastic gardeners. Many of them are members of various departments of Growth & Bloom in the region. During the summer months, up to and including August, these departments open a number of gardens to visitors every 2 to 3 weeks. This offers the opportunity to admire a wide variety of gardens, each at a different time during the gardening season.
