More than thirty years after the last episode, the comedy of A popped bullet Back in theaters with an pressing and overflowing reboot of gag. At the direction there is Akiva Schaffer, who rereads the spirit of the revised and correct saga for modern times, supported in script by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. Protagonist of this new adventure is Liam Neesonin the role of Lieutenant Frank Drebin Jr., direct heir of the unforgettable character played by Leslie Nielsen. Next to him, Pamela Anderson and Paul Walter Hauser, Cch Pounder and Danny Huston. At the cinema from 30 July.

The plot of A popped bullet It remains largely wrapped in mystery, but some indiscretion emerged thanks to the official trailer. Everything revolves around Frank Drebin Jr.a mess policeman struggling with a case that leads him to investigate the death of Beth’s brother, the fascinating character played by Pamela Anderson. During his investigations, however, Drebin will face a much more dangerous threat: the possible dismantling of his police teamwhile a series of robberies threaten the city. To move the ranks of everything, however, there seems to be a mysterious antagonist, played by Kevin Durand.

The gestation of A popped bullet It has been marked by rethinking and shipwrecked projects. Already in 2009 he had hypothesized to continue the saga with Leslie Nielsen still protagonist: the film, entitled The Naked Gun: What 4? Rhythm of Evilshould have told of Frank Drebin intent on training a young recruit. Although he had received an ok preliminary from Paramount and had even been promoted by television production at cinema, the project was then set aside for economic reasons. The screenwriter Alan Spencer explained that he had engaged in writing as a “rescue mission”, but after the request for the study to reduce the presence of Nielsen to a simple cameo, he abandoned the project.
The real relaunch came years later, when Seth MacFarlane has proposed a new reboot with Paramount with Liam Neeson in the main role. At that point, the production was entrusted to Akiva Schaffer. Filming began the May 6, 2024 in Atlantawith the temporary title Law of Toughnessand ended on June 28th.
