A young pair of brothers from the New Jersey Devils Jack and Luke Hughes pulled off a rare feat in Sunday’s playoff game against Carolina.

They became the sixth pair of brothers in NHL history who played on the same team and scored at least six points in the same playoff game.

The Devils’ first forward Jack scored 2+2, and his younger brother Luke caught two assists. The game in question was also Luke Hughes’ playoff debut in the NHL.

Before them, they had achieved this trick Henry and Maurice Richard, Don and Nick Metz, Daniel and Henrik Sedin, Duane and Brent Sutter mixed Anton and Peter Stastny.

“It wasn’t a fight”

In addition to the effects, Jack’s “fight” in the wild match that ended with New Jersey’s 8-4 victory shook Carolina’s Finnish star Sebastian Ahon with.

Hughes and Aho scuffled in the second set of the match, but the showdown could not be called an actual fight. Both received a two-minute suspension for violence.

The incident sparked hilarity after the game when Luke was asked how different he saw his older brother playing on the field compared to watching from the stands.

The story continues after immersion.

– Well, he ended up in a fight!, Luke beamed.

– It wasn’t a fight, Jack growled back.

New Jersey narrowed its second-round series against Carolina to 2-1. The next match will be played the night before Wednesday at the Devils’ home field.

Tomas Tatar’s insane kick – Sebastian Aho caught the Devils striker in the head with the stick. NHL can be watched on Elisa Viihde Viaplay and v Sport channels.
