The polluter is rewarded
In What’s holding us back? journalists Jeroen Smit, Jaap Tielbeke and Daphné Dupont-Nivet dive into the world of major climate polluters. The final episode of this season is about the increasing climate divide. Climate change affects us all, but how hard depends on your situation. In a poorly insulated home you are more likely to suffer from heat waves and downpours than in a green villa. While in general the following applies: the richer, the more polluting. That is what makes the climate crisis so unjust: people who contribute the least to global warming suffer the most from it. And in the meantime, richer Dutch people in particular benefit from sustainability subsidies. The polluter does not pay, but is rewarded. What’s stopping us from making this situation fairer?

Pirate adventure in space
This new Star Wars series is about a group of children who are drawn into a pirate adventure. Wim, Fern, KB and Neel live on the peaceful planet At Attin. Wim is unhappy at home, Fern struggles with a mother with high expectations. Then they find the wreckage of a spaceship. Once on board, the engine starts and the four accidentally end up on a pirate planet. It turns out that no one believes that At Attin really exists – the planet is a fable, part of a myth about a great treasure. The mysterious Jod Na Nawood (Jude Law) comes to the children’s aid. But can he be trusted? Skeleton Crew is great fun as a Christmas outing for children. There is less to get for adult Star Wars fans.

Human role-playing game from Japan
The most recent game from the acclaimed director of FinalFantasywho opened his own studio in 2003. Fantasian previously appeared on the subscription service Apple Arcade, but can now be played on game consoles. It’s a traditional Japanese role-playing game: you are a hero who wakes up with amnesia and has the fate of the world thrown into his lap. You can save up fights, so that you can quietly explore the world and only later have to fight dozens of enemies at the same time. The environments, physical dioramas that have been photographed and placed in the game, are special. It makes Fantasian feel more personal and human than the usual CGI game. That the soundtrack comes from the famous FinalFantasycomposer Nobuo Uematsu is the icing on the cake.
