NoIt only took the consent of the king and queen. Before setting the date of their Royal Wedding, Peter Phillips, 48, and girlfriend, former nurse Harriet Sperling, 45, they also had to inform William and Kate, as well as asking permission from the Anglican church. Both future spouses are in fact divorced, but it was only a formality. With everyone’s approval, preparations can begin.
Peter Phillips, son of Anne of England, will (re)marry on June 6th
The Royal Wedding it will be celebrated close to home. The ceremony will take place privately in the idyllic little church of All Saintsin the picturesque village of Kemple, near Cirencester, a quiet town in central England. A convenient choice, as the church is located a short distance from Gatcombe Parkthe official residence of Peter’s mother, Princess Anne, and where the newlyweds and future brothers-in-law, Zara and Mike Tindall, also reside.
But someone asked: why not a sumptuous ceremony in Windsor? The bride reportedly refused. Peter’s first wedding to Autumn Kelly, in 2008, they had been celebrated right in the chapel of St. Georgenear the castle (where, ten years later, Harry and Meghan also joined).

A love story that began two years ago
Harriet Sperling – a specialist pediatric nurse from the National Health Service – was presented to court last year. Since then, the future daughter-in-law of the Princess Royal seems to have won over all of Pete’s relatives, including Charles and Camilla. She gets along very well with Peter’s sister, Zara Tindall, and her husband, the former rugby player Mike, a commoner like her. At Ascot and other important events of the English Royal season she was photographed laughing and joking even with the king. A few weeks later, the engagement announcement arrived.

Peter Phillips, the thorn in Queen Elizabeth’s nephew
Nineteenth in line to the throne, Peter has established himself as a successful entrepreneur over the years. But there was no shortage of embarrassing headline-grabbing scandals. As when, six years ago, he appeared in a television advertisement for a milk brand in China, playing himself. His grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, never forgave him.

Bridesmaids and page boys at the wedding of Anne of England’s son
While mom Autumn won’t be invited, Peter’s teenage daughters will certainly serve as bridesmaids. Savannah, 16, and Isla, 14, will be accompanied by Harriet’s daughter Georgina, 13. But will George, Charlotte and Louis be there? To find out we will have to wait until the eve of the wedding, when the guest list will be officially released. And Louis could even make his debut as a page boy.
Next Royal Wedding will it make us forget Harry and Andrea’s scandals?
Despite not being a prominent Royal, the news of Peter Phillips’ marriage to a commoner is seen by English Royal watchers as a perfect opportunity to resolve the current crisis. Nothing better than a Royal wedding to shift public attention towards the more positive side of the Windsors. But later the scandals of recent years, and the ongoing controversies caused by the Sussexes and the former Yorks, one will suffice Royal Wedding to revive the fortunes of the monarchy? The bride Harriet, nice, without airs and easy-going, could be the right solution.
