A new part was replaced in Valtteri Bottas’ car in Bahrain

The Finnish car was hit by an electronics failure in the first round of the season

Valtteri Bottas was already concerned about the reliability of Alfa Romeo after the winter tests. The technical monsters tortured through the tests, and the C42 coagulated along the track several times.

The expenditure did not change during the first free practice of the season. Bottas was completely left without time when the car broke down already in the first lap.

In the other blocks, Bottas showed the pace by driving as much as the sixth fastest time. It promises good as long as the tricks play.

Bottas reports that after Friday’s rehearsals, the stable replaced “virtually every part” while locating an electrical problem in the car. The electronics control system was also replaced, which is a bad thing for Finns.

The rulebook gives the driver only two control units for the period free of charge. The fact that Bottas has only used both units after one day of training is not promising a good time.

Of course, the seasonal reserve of two units means that some of them are designed to last a long time. As long as there is no need to change the unit every day, Bottas will not have to worry about a five-point penalty in the near future.
