The Murat Kurnaz case is perhaps one of the most serious judicial scandals related to the war on terror proclaimed by George W. Bush in 2001.

Andreas Dresen to stage it chooses the point of view of the young Turkish motherwith a regular residence permit in Germany, who simply found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Without evidence or trial, Murat was imprisoned and tortured in Guantanamo for five years.

The odd couple that the determined housewife from Bremen forms with an idealistic lawyer (Albert Finney and Julia Roberts in Erin Brokovich as possible inspiration) it will go as far as Washington.
The mother (Meltem Kaptan) is in five at the Efa, the European Oscars.
