In the North American hockey media, it is considered clear that the GM of the Columbus Blue Jackets Jarmo Kekäläinen hires someone who has been in trouble as the team’s head coach Mike Babcock’s.

The Canadian’s list of merits includes the Stanley Cup, Olympic gold and the world championship, but according to some players, the success was overshadowed for a long time by the fact that Babcock’s inappropriate behavior does not stand up to closer scrutiny.

– Bully-Babs gets another chance. Am I disappointed? Yes, I am disappointed. Am I surprised? No I’m not. His entire retirement was pure horseshit from the start, Mike Commodore opens up in his video message.

Commodore played under Babcock in Anaheim and Detroit. The ex-defender has said on several occasions that the experiences were unpleasant because the pilot treated him so badly.

Babcock’s leadership skills have also been criticized Johan Franzen and Chris Chelios.

– I’m sure he walked into the Columbus office and told the management everything they wanted to hear. I’ve changed and blah blah blah. Bully Babs doesn’t change.

– All I can say is that with all due respect to my friends in the Columbus organization, I hope this Babcock experiment is a complete disaster on every level, Commodore downloads.

Babcock, 60, most recently coached the Toronto Maple Leafs, from whom he was fired in 2019. An eight-year contract signed during that time expires this summer.

Columbus’ season went badly in the bottom corner after the team was left as a jumbo in the Eastern Conference. The head coach Brad Larsen got fired after the regular season ended.
