A mayor K and a macrista dispute the remains of Frondizi

arturo frondizi He died 27 years ago and these days his body was left in the middle of a controversy between a Macrista municipality and another Peronist. The former president rests in the vault of the Faggionato family, in the Olive Cemeterysince 1995. That district, which is part of Vincent Lopez It is governed by the mayor of Together for Change, Soledad Martinezwho replaced Jorge Macri.

Last year a novelty emerged that at the end of August began to materialize: move Frondizi’s body to Concepción del Uruguay, where he governs Peronist Martin Oliva.

In the Immaculate Conception Basilica, a mausoleum began to be built where the remains will be moved de Frondizi, after an agreement with the grandchildren of the former president.

This decision was rejected by other relatives of Frondizi and also by the Faggionato family, who gathered around 50 signatures to send a note to the mayor of Concepción del Uruguay.

The controversy became public after a note by former NOTICIAS journalist Claudio Negrete, published in the newspaper La Nación, where he says that the “political-tourist-cultural plan” consists of take Frondizi to Entre Ríos and “put it next to the ashes of General Just Jose de Urquiza in the Immaculate Conception Basilica. The argument is that Frondizi lived in that city during elementary school and part of high school.

In the municipality of Vincent Lopez there is a lot of noise about the possible transfer of Frondizi’s remains, because in 2005 assumed the commitment to protect the vault of the Faggionato family because the presidential drawer is there. Frondizi rests in that place because he was married to Elena Faggionato. The mayor of Vicente López met with relatives of Frondizi who are against the transfer to analyze the situation.

The case could escalate and even go to court because within the PRO, the figure of Frondizi is usually claimed by Mauricio Macri and Horacio Rodríguez Larreta.

Frondizi’s drawer it is inside a private property that is the vault of the Faggionato familybut at the same time, the grandchildren are the most direct relatives of the former president and they are the ones who would have power over the body.

His grandson Diego Seghetti has the plan to move the remains of his grandfather, but also those of his grandmother, Elena Faggionato, and his mother “Elenita” Frondizi. And while in Entre Ríos the Mausoleum is built, in Buenos Aires they fight to preserve the body. The dead do not rest in peace.
