The Efteling will be largely smoke-free. From the coming Winter Efteling, visitors are only allowed to light a cigarette in ten special smoking zones, which are laid out in a sheltered way. From now on, the use of an e-cigarette is only allowed in those places.
Five years ago it was already forbidden to smoke in the queues for attractions. Now the amusement park will go one step further from 14 November. The new policy also applies to the holiday parks and the hotel.
Out of sight
With the new rules, the park wants smoking to become less visible to younger visitors. “The Efteling wants to be a healthy and safe place for everyone”, says director Fons Jurgens. “Now we are taking a step further towards smoke-free, with the exception of a few smoking zones. These are placed out of sight of other visitors and therefore children.”
