32 years old Nick Reiner accused of murdering his parents, film director Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner.
The couple died at their home on Sunday, December 14.
Nick Reiner was arrested on suspicion of the murders the same day.
The boy is known to have suffered from both mental health and substance abuse problems.
According to the US media, Nick Reiner suffers from schizophrenia, which he was diagnosed with in 2020.
TMZ now reports that Reiner’s medication was changed shortly before the blood work, when his condition deteriorated significantly and he suffered a mental breakdown. According to TMZ Reiner also became unpredictable and dangerous.
According to TMZ, Reiner’s behavior had been stable for a long time and the medication was working well. However, for some reason the medication was changed.
Reiner has already been in psychiatric treatment due to his mental health problems.

Rob Reiner was the director and actor. His directing credits include films such as: The Princess Robbery (1987), Stand by Me – Last Summer (1986), When Harry Met Sally (1989) and Hey, we rock! (This Is Spinal Tap, 1984).
Reiner is also remembered for his role Family is the worst in the series, where he played the character of Michael Stivic. The character was also known as “Läskipää”.
