For the winner of the singles in men and the women, a check of three million pounds is ready (3.5 million euros). That is an increase of eleven percent compared to last year. The losing finalists get just over half of the winners (1.52 million pounds). A place in the first round already yields 66,000 pounds (77,400 euros), which is ten percent more than in 2024.

The All England Club meets a question from the players to get a larger share in the profits made on Grandslams. In April, a letter signed by twenty important players was sent to those responsible for the four major tournaments with the question of negotiating. During the past edition of Roland Garros, conversations took place in that context.

What does Wimbledon’s organization say?

“We are very tied to our promise to compensate players correctly,” said Debbie Jevans, chairman of the Wimbledon organization, on Thursday during a press conference. “We are very proud if you know that compared to ten years ago the prize money has doubled, and this year it rises by seven percent. We listened to the players.”

Wimbledon, the third Grandslam tournament of the year, starts on 30 June and lasts until July 13. Last year the titles on the Holy Grass in London went to Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, who succeeded himself, and the Czech Barbora Krejcikova.
