King Charles says that his cancer treatment times will be reduced, news reports, among other things BBC and Mirror.

Charles was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of 2024. Since then, he has received treatment for his illness every week.

From the beginning of 2026, the number of treatment sessions will decrease significantly. However, according to the BBC, the king is not said to be in remission or cured of cancer.

Charles spoke about his cancer treatments on Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer program on Friday night. It was previously reported that Charles’ speech was recorded in November at the Clarence House residence.

– Today I can share the good news with you that thanks to early diagnosis, effective treatment and following the “doctor’s orders”, my own cancer treatment schedule can be shortened in the new year. This milestone is both a personal blessing and a testament to the remarkable advances in cancer treatment in recent years: a testament that I hope will encourage the 50 percent of us who will be diagnosed with this disease in our lifetime,” Charles said in his speech, according to the Mirror.

– Throughout my own cancer journey, I have been deeply moved by the “caring community” surrounding each cancer patient – experts, nurses, researchers and volunteers who tirelessly work to save and improve lives, the king said.

Charles expressed his concern that the country’s citizens are not sufficiently aware of the country’s cancer screenings or dare to undergo examinations. The king reminds that early intervention is particularly important in cancer treatment.

– I know from my own experience that a cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming. However, I also know that early detection is the key that can change journeys to recovery and give immeasurably valuable time to care teams and their patients, the precious gift of hope.

British media describe Charles’s speech as the king’s biggest health update since the announcement of his cancer diagnosis in February 2024.

Buckingham Palace has commented on Charles’ health in more detail on Friday evening.

– His majesty has responded exceptionally well to the treatments, and his doctors instruct that the ongoing follow-up measures will now move to the precautionary phase. This condition is being continuously monitored and assessed to protect and prioritize his continued recovery, a palace spokesman said, according to the Mirror.

According to the spokesperson, Charles has been comforted by the fact that he has been able to continue a full and active life during his treatments. However, the king has always followed the instructions of his medical staff.

– His ability to handle all his government duties and continue his public representations and foreign tours has significantly helped in maintaining a positive state of mind, which is a vital part of recovery.

The quality of King Charles’ cancer has not been made public.
