A brother of Antonio Anglés is arrested for kidnapping and injuries

Again the Anglés family involved in a criminal matter for a violent act. Joaquín Martins –Mauri–, who changed his name and surname, like his brothers, trying not to live stigmatized by the murders committed by his brother Antonio Anglés together with Miguel Ricart, was arrested by agents of the Guardia civilian accused of kidnapping a man, beating him up and leaving him naked in a ditch of a road in Picassent (Valencia). Along with him, four other people have been arrested for their alleged participation in these events.

The kidnapping occurred on November 29, 2021 by a business related debt of Mauri and others of those arrested. Thus, presumably those now detained would have forced their victim into a car, and after beating him, they left him abandoned in a ditch, without clothes and with injuries all over his body. In addition, the vehicle used was later located completely burned in Torrent.

The facts were denounced at the time and the result of a long investigation by the Homicide group of the Civil Guard, the agents proceeded on Monday morning to arrest the five allegedly involved in said kidnapping, with house searches in Catarroja and other municipalities in the area.

The searches were coordinated by the Examining Court number two of Picassent, which is handling the case. The five detainees are accused of the crimes of illegal detention, injuries, robbery with violence and damages.

The car used by those arrested was located burned in Torrent at the end of November 2021

Two years ago Joaquín Martins, one of the little brothers of the murderer of the Alcàsser girls, already sat in the dock for another violent matter, an extortion of a businessman in the gas station sector after the alleged theft of half a million of euros that were hidden in a Ferrari.

However, both Mauri and two of his brothers, also prosecuted, were acquitted not being able to ratify the victim the facts in the trial, since he was in search and capture for another cause, as this newspaper reported at the time. In addition, during the investigation phase, the extorted person reached an economic agreement with his alleged aggressors.

Although they could not be sentenced for extortion, one of the brothers, Carlos MM, was sentenced by the Provincial Court to four years and nine months for drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons.
