Athlete Viivi Lehikoinen26, has received positive news about his health for a long time.

The Finnish record holder in the 400-meter hurdles said on Instagram that her lung problems have finally eased.

In the fall of 2024, Lehikoinen was diagnosed with chronic asthma and an overexertion condition caused by sleep deprivation. At that time, the troubles forced him to lighten up his training and find a new balance for his body.

However, the feedback from the doctor was exactly what the athlete had hoped for.

– The lung situation is progressing exactly as hoped, and the test results looked even better than before these problems! Lehikoinen was happy on social media.

According to the runner from Helsinki, the relief was huge, even though he was already confident about the situation.

– Exercising also tastes completely different when your body feels like your own again.

Lehikoinen says that during the process he learned a lot about listening to his body and noticing warning signs.

– People get used to feeling bad surprisingly quickly and only later do they realize what is really normal and what is not. Perhaps what saddens me the most is that I didn’t immediately know how to grasp the signals given by the body.

The athlete also wanted to remind his followers of an important matter.

– If you feel a little uncertain about your health, dare to ask for help or do something about it. Our body adapts too easily to not being taken care of. Don’t let things go too far, Lehikoinen wrote.

Lehikoinen represents HIFK-Friidort. In the season that ended, he was not at his best, and the season’s best time of 55.80 in the 400-meter hurdles was clearly below his Finnish record (54.40).
