The economic mood in the euro zone clouded in March.
At the previous month, the Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) fell by 1.1 points to 95.2 points, as the European Commission announced on Friday in Brussels. Bank economist: On the other hand, an increase to 96.7 points had expected an average of 96.7 points. The ESI is therefore further below its long -term average of 100 points.
The mood in the battered industrial sector has improved. The indicator fell into the service sector, the construction industry and in retail. The consumer: internal confidence remained stable.
Despite the fiscal packages adopted, the mood in Germany only slightly brightened (+0.3 points). The value in Spain increased particularly significantly (+1.1 points). In France (-2.1 points) and Italy (-2.0 points), the atmosphere cloudy.
