Half of the NATO fleet SNMG1 is today in the port of Rotterdam. In addition to the Dutch Zr.Ms. Tromp is the German FGS Rhön and the Belgian BNS Louise-Marie. The ships want to give the role of NATO a little more face to the public.
The fleet connection is used, among other things, to protect the important infrastructure under water. Think of energy and data cables. The remaining 3 ships of the fleet relationship are currently doing this in the Baltic Sea. They were used for NATO mission Baltic Sentry. Also closer to home, in the North Sea, the ships are used to prevent sabotage.
The international visit also promotes support for the upcoming NATO summit in June. The fleet dressing contributes to security from the sea. The Royal Navy also plays a role in this.

The city of Rotterdam illuminates the World Museum in blue and white in honor of the visit of the units. After the weekend the ships leave again. The fleet connection then participates in the NATO exercise Ramstein Flag And controls from the sea to perform air defense operations. Zr.Ms. Tromp is also able to ensure image structure and shares the information with units on land, at sea and in the air. This way everyone has the same picture.
