No dayot upamecano, no alphonso Davies. FC Bayern has to do without two important supports. The Davies case in particular angered the club.
FC Bayern expressed sharp criticism of the Canadian association after the serious knee injury of Alphonso Davies – and threatened with legal steps. The defense lawyer had torn the cruciate ligament in an international match against the United States and will now lack the club for months.
“We are calling for a complete clarification of the processes of Canada Soccer and expressly resigned from legal steps,” said Bavaria’s CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen of the “Bild”.
Davies suffered the injury early on in the game for third place in Concacaf Nations League. At first, the blessing was apparently classified as less serious-the 24-year-old started back to Munich. Only there did the doctors diagnose a cruciate ligament tear in the right knee.
At Bayern, dealing with the player irritated. Dreesen clearly criticized that from the club’s point of view, it was “grossly negligent and a clear violation of the medical duty of care”, to send an obviously struck player without a thorough examination for a twelve -hour flight.
The fact that Davies was even in the starting XI is incomprehensible in Munich. He had muscular problems before the game. Dreesen emphasized: “In our view, the use of Davies in a sporty, insignificant game is in no way understandable.”
In addition to Davies, the record champion will also be missing in the coming weeks, the also injured central defenders Min-Jae Kim and Dayot Upamecano are also missing. Especially with regard to the decisive phase in the Bundesliga and Champions League, the personnel failure hits the club hard. At Kim there is still hope that he could return promptly.
