Minerva Hase and Nikita Volodin ran to the silver medal at the Icfunction World Cup in Boston.
After the short program, Hase/Volodin had been in third place and had already had good medal opportunities. Thanks to an almost perfect freestyle, they were able to overtake the Italians Sara Conti and Niccolo Macii in the final with 219.08 points and leave it clearly (210.47).
The leading Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara also made a few points well, but it shouldn’t be enough for gold. The new world champions come from Japan. (219.79).
Before the World Cup, the German Duo had already won the Grand Prix final and the European Championship. Minerva Hase had described a medal at the World Cup before the competitions in Boston as a “dream”. The two 25-year-olds have now fulfilled this.
Hocke/Kunkel in 18th place
The second German couple played no role in the allocation of medals. Annika Hocke and Robert Kunkel had started after a short program with some mistakes of 20th place. In the freestyle, however, they were able to improve by two places and were at the end of 18 ..
