The Japanese sporting goods Asics goes to the tennis court with the French APC brand.
The two brands bring out a tennis capsule for women and men, said Asics and APC on Thursday. Asics’ performance technology meets the style of APC. The collection offers pieces for and next to the square.
“We are pleased to present our first tennis cooperation in a complete look, and the partnership with APC was the perfect addition to this launch,” said Camille Eberhard, Director of Apparel at ASICS. “Our teams worked closely together to bring this vision to life and to reconcile style and performance to inspire self -confidence on the pitch.”
The 20-part on-court collection offers pieces such as a tennis dress, sleeveless tops and two-in-one shorts. This part of the collaboration relies on three central design elements: some pieces are based on the Japanese shift technology Kasane, while the “EnSO” motif-a circular symbol of the unit-runs through the entire collection. The ASICS logo is designed here in the style of traditional Japanese coloring technology Shibori. There are also the right shoes and accessories such as peaked caps, socks and forehead straps.
APC’s creative director Judith Touitou designed a 30-part collection for the square. Here, too, there are special pieces such as the sneakers ‘Gel-Kayano 14’ x APC and a brawl made of Japanese denim.
“With this collection we tried to reach the purest silhouettes to emphasize the beauty of the sporty gesture of the Asics athletes: inside on their way to success,” said Touitou. “We also wanted to implement this spirit in the lifestyle of every person and give it a playful touch on nylon parts through our color gradient pressure.”
The collaboration is available from April 5 in the online shops and selected physical stores of the brands.
