There is no doubt about Finns’ favorite grill. It is a gas grill and is 200-500 euros in the price range.
Prisma’s survey and fresh sales data show what the Finns want.
– Currently, up to 50 percent of the total barbecue sales are grills in the price range of 200-350 euros, Prisma’s renovation and garden sales manager Marko Väänänen says in the bulletin.
The same line is the K-Rauta Product Group Manager Outi Lehto. He tells Iltalehti that gas grills costing € 200-500 are the most popular.
– Gas grilling is still the most popular way of grilling Finns. Today, many also buy more grills for different purposes. For example, a separate pizza oven or pellet grill for pizza, Lehto answers the question of Iltalehti.
Popular grills in Europe have also gained popularity in Finland.
According to Lehdo, the sale of barbecues in a cheaper price range shows clear growth.
Prisman Väänänen has also noticed a change in the behavior of barbecue buyers.
According to Prisma’s sales data, the demand for traditional gas grills has increased to the extent that Prisma’s own brand will be on sale this spring for sale.
– One of the interesting things is that grills are increasingly purchased from online stores, says Väänänen in the release.
A lot of barbecues are also purchased from the K-Rauta online store.
The Prisma survey also explored what kind of grill on Finns now want to cook. The answer is in accordance with the sales data, ie just over half (55 %) was in favor of a gas grill. About one in five (20 %) favored a charcoal grill.
On the other hand, one grill does not inspire Finns. The electric grill is selected by only 8 percent, even behind the campfire and open fire (16 percent).
The sausage still has to be the number one grill. 74 % of those who responded to Prisma said they were choosing a sausage. The second most popular grilling is red meat (54 %). Third place was two raw materials: chicken and Halloumi cheese.
At Easter and May Day, the grills get hot in many yards and cottages, but the real barbecue season starts on Midsummer. The K-store report reports that then there is the biggest sausage season of the year.
Finns prefer traditional flavors in sausages. The most popular taste sausages are different cheese sausages. Various specialty sausages, such as raw sausage, and new flavors such as NDUja and Habanero are also gaining popularity.
