His Majesty De Koning will bring a working visit to a hospice and a hospital in Amersfoort on Thursday morning 3 April with State Secretary for Long -term and Social Care, Vicky Maeijer. The working visit is dominated by palliative care: care focused on the quality of life when someone no longer gets better.

The working visit starts at Het Hospice. There, the King and State Secretary speak with employees and volunteers about the cooperation between various care providers in the region and the provision of care in the final phase of life.

Subsequently, the King and State Secretary go to a hospital and talk to patients and their loved ones about their experiences and the importance of social awareness about palliative care. They also discuss the regional and national plans to make palliative care a natural part of regular care.

De Koning regularly makes working visits with a minister or state secretary. Based on practical examples, the ministers show the effects of the policy.
