These are his statements: “The match with Roma was the worst game of my career with the Lazio shirt and in general. That game changed my life, because from then on I put something different when I played, it made me grow because I took the first blow of my career there, and at that moment I understood that the homework, the talent is not enough, you have to put something else to be player of a certain level.
I knew that was my last year with Lazio, we hadn’t taken the salary for eight months, we were in pieces, the club from a financial point of view had so many debts. I came from the youth sector, and if they had sold me it would have been a capital gain. It was a difficult year: at the beginning I thought about Inter, they had spoken to the Nerazzurri club to send me there, the year before I said no to Real Madrid.
Unfortunately I went badly, it’s something that I was very sorry. I would probably have remained all life of Lazio, unfortunately there was the collapse; I would never have imagined a life far from Lazio. Leaving Lazio was a trauma, in the first months it was very hard, I would never have wanted to leave, people were very attached to me. Before that game, Saturday, they summoned me to tell me that I had to leave, and I took it badly and I had a bad reaction when I asked for the change. I regretted so much. “
